I was never good at poker. Like, genuinely terrible. I'd get a decent hand and go all in and everyone knew instantly not to mess with me, so I would make ten cents a round and end up somehow losing $20 a game. Despite this, I showed up every single time, bad poker face and all, because I loved every second of it.

I'd spend half the game cracking jokes instead of paying attention, then act shocked when I lost. "How did that happen?" Every. Single. Round. My friends still bring it up.

Then surgery came along and took my seat at the table. So I made these cards — because if I can't be there to lose dramatically and make everyone laugh, at least you can play with something I put my heart into.

I may not be at the table anymore, but I'm still in the game. Play one for me. ❤️
